NH-L9i Review

This CPU cooler is among one of the smallest we’ve ever used for our own Mini ATX builds. It come from an Austrian company as our best CPU cooler that specializes entirely in PC coolers and fans, which means no compromises are made in the way of quality assurance despite its low-profile form-factor.
Test verdict: "Best low-profile CPU cooler!" (Gabe Carey, TechRadar.com)

NH-L9i Review

It features Noctua’s signature mark of quality, and great performance as well. But the best bit? It’s reasonably priced and you can pick one up for around $40. Highly recommended for compact PC builders (and hardware fans).
Test verdict: "If you need a slim-line CPU cooler the NH-L9i can’t be beaten." (Chris Sealey, Building a Gaming PC)

NH-L9i, NH-L9a, NM-AM4-L9aL9i mounting-kit Review

Having a compact cooler is nice and all, but cooling performance is what really matters. To test this out I employed the might of an 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 1700 CPU. The processor was tested at stock, 3.55GHz, and 3.75GHz. The Furmark CPU burn in utility was used to push all cores to 100% load. Overall I was very impressed by the coolers performance. It handled the 65W Ryzen 7 1700 without much issue at all. I was even able to do a substantial overclock without even coming close to the thermal limit. This is a testament to both the efficiency of Ryzen 7 chips, and the quality of the cooler.
Test verdict: "If you have an NH-L9i or L9a, I would pickup the free upgrade kit ASAP." (Jay, Tek Everything)

NH-L9i Review

Stock temperatures up first and it’s better than expected. The Noctua NH-L9i manages to adequately cool the Intel 6700K in stock and Turbo conditions. It’s last on our charts, to be expected, but still shows it can cool above the recommended 65W TDP. Sound performance next and the Noctua NH-L9i manages well here. It’s surprising that it’s in the middle of our chart comparison, and shows there’s a little more thermal performance to be had, if you crank up the fan speeds a little.
Test verdict: ...the maximum mITX low-profile CPU cooler implementation you can buy with a good degree of confidence

NH-L9i Review

Even though the C7 has a bigger heatsink, the fan is not as good as the Noctua’s and this clearly shows and on the auto profile fan curve when it looses to the Noctua in the games tests. But while it ramps up at the cost of very high noise, the C7 is slightly better performing than the Noctua. The Noctua is a great performer overall and has the quieter fan, minus the max % where all coolers are noisy.
Test verdict: "The Noctua NH-L9i takes the crown for now for the best overall all-arounder very low profile cooler." (Glob3trotters.com)

NH-L9i Review

(Marco Kloos, PCGH Extreme Forum)

NH-L9i Review

This is close to a perfect very low profile cooler, except the performance for medium to higher TDP processors is lacking. For an office PC, light to medium gaming PC, or a slim HTPC solution this cooler could be a great choice. Installation is effortless and very quick.
Test verdict: "Noctua NH-L9i is a premium, easy product, that is very quiet for its intended TDP use of 65W." (Robert Andersson, tinysilentpc.se)

NH-L9i Review

NH-L9i, NH-L9a Review

NH-L9i Review

Noctua NH-L9i is high quality and well performing compact cooler. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, not many similar coolers are available on the market and for sure not many can offer so high product quality. Everything looks great including package.
Test verdict: "If you are looking for a compact cooler which can replace Intel reference solution but offers better quality, design and performance then Noctua NH-L9i is a product for you. It’s hard to find many other coolers which are as good for small builds and HTPC so of course NH-L9i deserves our recommendation!" (Bartosz Waluk, FunkyKit.com)
