FAQ: Wie kann ich herausfinden, ob das UEFI BIOS meines Mainboards den Prozessor ab Werk übertaktet und dies gegebenenfalls deaktivieren?
Die meisten zum Übertakten geeigneten Mainboards (Intel X- und Z-Chipsätze) betreiben den Prozessor automatisch mit erhöhten Taktraten, ohne dass der Benutzer dafür aktiv eingreifen muss. Da bei diesen Mainboards darüber hinaus meist auch noch das TDP (Thermal Design Power)-Limit erhöht oder deaktiviert ist, kann dies dazu führen, dass der Prozessor unter hoher Last den spezifizierten TDP-Wert überschreitet. Die in diesem Fall erhöhte Leistungsaufnahme des Prozessors führt zu höherer Abwärme, durch die es in weiterer Folge mitunter zu unerwartet hohen Temperaturen kommen kann.
Um herauszufinden, ob Ihr Mainboards den Prozessor automatisch übertaktet, gehen Sie im UEFI BIOS bitte in die Menüpunkte wie „Advanced“ oder „Overclocking“. Dort sollten Sie Optionen finden, die etwa „MultiCore Enhancement“ (Optionen: enabled/disabled), „CPU Ratio Apply Mode“ (Optionen: all/per core) oder ähnlich heißen. Um das automatische Übertakten zu verhindern, müssen diese Punkte entweder deaktiviert (disabled) oder auf „per core“ geändert werden. Bitte beachten Sie, dass bei letzterem Punkt auch alle einzelnen Multiplikatorstufen gemäß den Spezifikationen Ihres Prozessors eingestellt sind.
