I was worried about how I was going to break down the pros and cons for three different types of fans — until I used them.. Every single one of these fans are identical when it comes to noise. Honestly, I was a bit amazed about how much air the 40mm and 60mm fans moved while being silent. Common sense states that the smaller the fan, the more RPM it needs to move enough air to be worth using, but these fans move a butt-ton of air without actually making any noise. With the 92mm fan I got exactly what I was expecting. Solid airflow with minimum noise (just like when it was strapped to the heat-sink). Out of the three, surprisingly the 60mm actually moved the most amount of air. I would attribute that to the added thickness of the fan, therefore the ability to spin faster and have thicker blades.
"The usage of any of these three fans is definitely limited when it comes to your average gamer, but for those of you who could actually find some usage out of fans in these sizes (40mm, 60mm, 92mm), then these are fans that I can highly recommend." (DJ Dixon, Go!GamingGiant)
