The NA-SFMA1 is a set of two NA-FMA1 fan mounting adaptors that permit the installation of the NF-A12x25 and several other Noctua 120mm fans on 140mm watercooling radiators (or other screw-mount applications that are designed for 140mm fans, e.g. as a case fan). Thanks to the superior efficiency of the NF-A12x25 fan, the NA-SFMA1 thereby enables users to boost the performance of their 140mm radiators by replacing the stock fans with NF-A12x25s. In addition to the two adaptors, the NA-SFMA1 includes eight NA-AV4 anti-vibration mounts, which give the extra benefit of damping any minute vibrations that might otherwise be transferred to the radiator and on to the PC case.
Caution: the NA-SFMA1 has been specifically designed to ensure an optimal fit of the NF-A12x25 fan on watercooling radiators. It is also compatible with the NF-F12, NF-S12A and NF-P12 redux models as well as some 120mm fans from other manufacturers, but due to the special adaption to the NF-A12x25’s frame shape, not all 120mm fans fit. The NA-SFMA1 can be used for other screw-mount applications such as installing the NF-A12x25 in 140mm case fan placements, but may not work with 140mm applications that feature different methods of mounting (e.g. CPU coolers with custom fan clips).

Boosting 140mm radiator performance with the NF-A12x25

Boosting 140mm radiator performance with the NF-A12x25

Noctua’s novel NF-A12x25 120mm fan has been thoroughly optimised for superior performance on mid to high impedance applications such as watercooling radiators and effectively outperforms many 140mm fans. The NA-SFMA1 thus allows the performance of 140mm-based all-in-one (AIO) or custom (DIY) watercooling systems to be boosted by replacing the fans with NF-A12x25s.
Dual pack for two fans

Dual pack for two fans

The NA-SFMA1 set includes 2 NA-FMA1 adaptors and 8 NA-AV4 anti-vibration mounts for installing two fans, thereby enabling users to set up either a single 140mm radiator in a push/pull configuration or a dual 140mm (280mm) radiator with two NF-A12x25 fans.
Vibration-free fan mount

Vibration-free fan mount

The included NA-AV4 anti-vibration mounts damp any minute vibrations that may otherwise be transferred to the radiator and on to the PC case, which makes the NA-SFMA1 a great choice not only for those seeking to boost the performance of their 140mm watercoolers but also for silent enthusiasts who aim to reduce vibrations and resonances.
Easy installation

Easy installation

Installing NF-A12x25 fans on 140mm radiators using the NA-FMA1 is child’s play: Pull the supplied anti-vibration mounts through the adaptor’s fan mounting holes, fix the adaptor to the radiator using the original screws, put the fan on the assembly and pull the tips of the anti-vibration mounts through its mounting holes – done!
6-year manufacturer’s warranty

6-year manufacturer’s warranty

The NA-FMA1 adaptors are made from the same high-grade, fibreglass reinforced PBT material that is used for most of Noctua’s fans, which makes it just as sturdy as a Noctua fan frame. Like all Noctua products, the entire NA-SFMA1 set comes with a full 6-year manufacturer’s warranty.

NA-SFMA1 Review

We have tested the Noctua NF-SFMA1 on the NZXT Kraken X62. NZXT has provided AER P 140mm fans with this cooler. The rated speed of the NZXT AER P 140 is 500 ~ 1800 +/- 300 RPM. Noise level rating is 21 – 38 dBA. Fan operates on 12V DC and draws 0.35A with an input power of 4.20W. These fans are PWM design with 4-pin PWM power connector. For comparison, we have tested the fans for which these brackets are designed in particular aka NF-A12x25. We have tested the PWM version of these fans. Their rated speed is 2000 +/- 10% RPM with sound level 22.6 dBA. Static pressure rating is 2.34 mmH2O. [...] The idle temps using the NZXT AER P were 1.99°C whereas the idle temps were 1.83°C with the Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM. This is a marginal difference but keep in mind these are 120mm Noctua fans vs NZXT 140mm fans and noise level difference is huge between both fans. Real comparison will come from the under load temps. Under load, the NZXT Kraken X62 was doing 38.83°C. With Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, the Kraken X62 was doing 38.5°C. Again we note a marginal difference but this is a significant boost in the performance from the 120mm fans using the 140mm bracket. Please, note that there is a 1 ~ 1.5m,m gap between the 120mm fans and the radiator when using this bracket. Against all odds, the fans have delivered a powerful punch.
Test verdict: "Against all odds the might and prime of the Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM outclass the competition in the noise-to-performance ratio. This goes to show that Noctua has brought out an accessory that would be a lethal cooling solution when coupled with their new generation NF-A12x25 (PWM/FLX) fans" (Nauman Siddique, EnosTech.com)

NA-SFMA1 Review

NF-A12x25 ventilatori donose neke nove tehnologije i materijale, a uz odlične radne karakteristike i zadovoljavajuće nisku radnu buku.

NA-SFMA1 Review

I will repeat myself as Noctua products are simply amazing. Both presented fans so the NF-12x25 and NF-P12 perform well and are really quiet as Noctua declares. These fans have already received multiple prizes around the Internet so it won’t be strange to see one more from our redaction.
Test verdict: "If you are searching for the best fans on the market then Noctua is the top choice." (Bartosz Waluk, FunkyKit.com)

NA-SFMA1 Review

Test verdict: "Вполне может претендовать на звание самого тихого 120-мм вентилятора в мире." (Vasilenko Andrey, Overclockers.com.ua)

NA-SFMA1 Review

(Torsten Vogel, PC Games Hardware 10/18)

NA-SFMA1 Review

The NA-SFMA1 fan adaptor is a great accessory with solid build quality and design. The overall insatallation is simple, quick and easy. At the moment of this review, there is no 140 mm version of the NF-A12x25 fan This adaptor is the best way to get it installed on a 140 mm radiator. But you should check for compatibility if you are planning to use the adaptor with non-Noctua fans.

NA-SFMA1 Review

NA-SFMA1 Review

Noctua has combined a lot of features to bring us the NF-A12x25. It was built around the concept that the blade tips would run about 0.5 mm from the frame – a tight clearance intended to deliver more static pressure and lose less airflow through the blowback. To pull this off the OEM used a whole box of tricks: they made it from a more rigid plastic called Sterrox, used reinforced bearings, stiffened corners, and tightly swept blades. When one places a gasket on the fan before putting the fan on a rad, it does two things. First, it seals the gap between the fan and the rad, forcing more air through the rad. This is aided by the tight clearance between the blades and the frame. The gasket also reduces the vibrations produced by the fan. So one has a high-performing quiet fan. Add to this Noctua’s six-year guarantee and one has quite a fan. If one uses an NA-SFMA1 they could put this 120 mm fan on a 140 mm rad. This combo makes a surprisingly good pseudo 140 mm rad fan, and quieter than most.
Test verdict: "The key to this fan’s performance is that throughout its operational range it is quieter than most competing fans. As usual, these fans from Noctua are a bit on the high side, price wise, but one pays for quality and Noctua delivers." (Ed Hume, overclockers.com)
