The NF-A4x10 24V PWM is a PWM-enabled 24V variant of Noctua’s award-winning, premium-quality NF-A4x10 40mm fan. As such, it is ideal for 24V-based 3D printers as well as various other 24V applications. Featuring an AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard frame and sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A4x10 is renowned for its superior performance and outstanding quietness of operation. Smooth Commutation Drive technology and Noctua’s reference class SSO2 bearing guarantee superb running smoothness and excellent long-term stability. 24V fans are used in various devices and applications ranging from 3D printers to automotive. With the included OmniJoin™ adaptor set, the NF-A4x10 24V is a proven, PWM-enabled premium solution that gives you full flexibility both for replacing existing 24V fans and for new, custom applications.
Ideal for 3D printers
Many 3D printers such as the popular Creality Ender 3 or Anycubic Mega use 24V fans. With the included NA-AC9 adaptor cable for JST XHP-2 2.5mm headers as well as the OmniJoin™ adaptor set that makes fitting custom connectors a breeze, the NF-A4x10 24V PWM is an ideal choice for cooling the hot end of 24V-based 3D printers or for additional part cooling.
Reduced motor hub size
Thanks to its streamlined, compact motor design, the NF-A4x10's motor hub is smaller than with conventional 4cm fans. This allows for more blade surface area and thus contributes to the NF-A4x10's superior airflow and pressure performance.
Flow Acceleration Channels
The NF-A4x10 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.
AAO frame
Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan's performance/noise efficiency.
Stepped Inlet Design
Noctua's Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the influx in order to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal intake noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in space-restricted environments.
Inner Surface Microstructures
With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency.
Integrated anti-vibration pads
Integrated anti-vibration pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and most other mounting mechanisms.
NE-FD5 motor driver IC
The NE-FD5 is a novel 24V single-phase fan driver IC that integrates Noctua’s Smooth Commutation Drive 2 technology in order to achieve superbly smooth commutation performance. Combined with its advanced protection features, high torque and excellent energy efficiency, it’s the perfect cornerstone for robust high-performance fans that can run near inaudible at lower speeds.
PWM control with wide speed range
Supporting PWM-based speed control, the NF-A4x10 24V PWM can be PWM-controlled from its maximum speed of 5000rpm all the way down to 1100rpm. This makes it possible to adjust the fan for near-silent operation or maximum performance using either manual speed controllers such as the NA-FC1 or automatic speed control setups.
Stops at 0% PWM
When the fan is set to 0% PWM duty cycle by the motherboard or PWM fan controller, it will stop. This makes it ideal for creating setups with semi-passive cooling that automatically turn the fans off and thus run completely silent at idle if thermals allow.
Advanced protection features
Protected against reverse polarity, over voltage and over current (short-circuits), the fan is suitable for use in challenging electrical environments. At the same time, its ultra-low EMC emissions make it ideal for applications where electrical interference is critical. Last but not least, its locked rotor and overloading protection add extra safety in situations where the fan may be blocked mechanically.
Safety certifications
Unlike many cheap fans, the NF-A4x10 24V PWM has been thoroughly tested for electrical safety, immunity and radiated emission. Carrying CE, TÜV, UKCA and UL certifications and meeting all applicable standards (EN 62368-1, EN 55035, EN 55032, UL-507), it is a safe, quality device through and through.
SSO2 Bearing
The NF-A4x10 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
Low-Noise Adaptor
The NF-A4x10 24V PWM is supplied with a Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.) that reduces the maximum fan speed from 5000 to 4100rpm. The L.N.A. can be used either to run the fan at a fixed speed of 4100rpm or to cap the maximum speed when using automatic PWM control.
NA-AC9 adaptor for 3D printers
The NA-AC9 adaptor cable allows the fan to be connected to the 2-pin JST XHP-2 2.5mm sockets used on many popular 3D printer models (e.g. Creality Ender 3 and CR-10, Anycubic Mega). No soldering or re-wiring required!
OmniJoin™ Adaptor Set
Many devices featuring 40mm fans use proprietary fan headers, so the NF-A4x10 comes with Noctua's OmniJoin™ adaptor set. Just cut the original fan's cable, fix it to the adaptor using the supplied cable connectors and you can plug the NF-A4x10 to proprietary fan headers!
Extensive cabling options
The fan's short 20cm primary cable minimises cable clutter in typical applications while the supplied 30cm extension provides extended reach when necessary. Both cables are protected by a high-quality sleeving that offers excellent resistance against mechanical wear as well as heat and flames (UL 94 V-0 classification).
6-year manufacturer’s warranty
Noctua fans are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the NF-A4x10 features an MTTF of more than 150.000 hours rating and comes with a full 6-year manufacturer's warranty.
