NF-S12B FLX
As an aside, in trying to get my PC (and room) as quiet as possible, I’ve I discovered that my monitor actually makes a quiet humming noise when on low brightness levels. That’s how quiet I got my room, and I’m actually quite gutted that I discovered this as it’s going to bug me no end now that I know it’s there! So, on to my observations… This fan can be ridiculously quiet. When using it with the ULNA (600rpm) I couldn’t hear the fan without putting my head right next to the fan. With using the LNA (900rpm) I could just about make out a soft choppy noise coming from the fan. Both of these speeds were quieter than my HDDs that were chugging away in the background. [...] Noctua it seems really do know how to make a fan that runs quietly. The inclusion of the LNA and ULNA speed reducers mean that even the most critical of silent PC types will be able to run this fan at a noise/airflow level they will be happy with.
"The NF-S12B pushes more air in open space than the NF-P12, and can be run silently with the UNLA. This makes it a great case fan" (Daniel Boothby, XtremeComputing.co.uk)
