NH-D14
In terms of cooling performance, the Noctua NH-D14 truly delivers beating all the competition by a few degrees at both idle and load states for the stock clocked i7 920 processor. As a result, the cooler comfortably tops the graphs. The overclocked settings make for a closer battle between the NH-D14 and the Cooler Master V8 with the coolers a dead heat at load state whilst the Noctua construction knocks 4 degrees off at idle state. Quite simply, it’s the lowest temperatures we’ve recorded so the huge NH-D14 really does offer superb cooling ability. Although our noise testing is only subjective and left to the human ear, the cooler once again performed excellently giving out only very low levels of noise far below the coolers nearest to it in terms of cooling.
"[I]f you have the funds and are looking for a stand-out cooler, the NH-D14 is simply the best of the best when it comes to cooling ability." (Joe Blackmore, HardwareLook.com)
