NH-C14
The results of this test were quite surprising, the blow down NH-C14 beat the Noctua NH-U12P tower cooler in all the NH-C14’s modes except the single fan low profile mode. In addition NH-C14 with its blow down operation kept the North bridge and South bridge 12°C cooler on average. I repeated the tests on both coolers with the same results +/- 1oC. I then added another tower cooler I added another tower cooler to the mix, the new Thermaltake Jing. This too couldn’t beat the NH-C14. [...]

Moreover the NH-C14 does have some features not found in the top end coolers which make it a more versatile product:

Low Profile: With two fans mounted, the height of the cooler is 130mm - 30mm less than a full tower cooler such as the Thermalright Venomous X. The height can be lowered further to 105mm by removing the top fan. Alternatively, running with a single top fan leaves ample clearance for tall RAM modules.

Cooler motherboard components: During testing, we saw significant reductions in both North Bridge and South Bridge temperatures compared to those found running a tower cooler.

Both of the above features make the NH-C14 particularly suited to smaller enclosures and HTPC builds, allowing a small degree of overclocking.
"To sum up, Noctua have once again produced an innovative product, providing a high quality cooler with flexible operating options, good cooling and low noise levels and a six year warranty thrown in too." (Chris Smith, Clunk.org.uk)
