NH-C14
In use the Noctua NH-C14 was nearly silent with the fans running at the default speed of 1200RPM. The fans on the Thermaltake Frio were run on the highest speed of 2500RPM, and their noise was easily recognized in the test system. The difference in the fans need to be taken into consideration when looking at the temperatures shown above. While the Thermaltake Frio had better temperatures, it was far louder than the Noctua NH-C14.
"The NH-C14 shows that Noctua knows what they are doing. With the NH-C14, Noctua has designed a downdraft cooler that can compete with the huge tower coolers on the market." (Steven Kean, BigBruin.com)
