NH-D14
Fully installed and ready to test, the first thing I noticed was almost complete silence. The tan and brown fans for which Noctua is known were the quietest fans imaginable. And this was without the 3 pin resistors installed. When tested with the sound dampening adapters it was almost impossible to even hear the fans at all. So I ran some temps before changing coolers. Prior to installing the NH-D14, we had a Tuniq Propeller 120 installed. At idle, the Tuniq provided a stable 32 degrees Celsius and 64 degrees under a full load. I was expecting a little improvement. The results were breathtaking. The NH-D14 took the temperatures down to 23 degrees Celsius at idle and maxed out at 34 degrees under a full load. That’s and astounding 47% difference in temperatures under a load! I was so astounded by the temperature readings that I got, that I reached my hand into the case and touched every part of the cooler. It was icy cool.
"Just from looking at the sheer size of the NH-D14 I was expecting a decrease in my CPU temperatures. I had no clue that the improvement would be so drastic. The numbers speak for themselves. With temperatures never rising over 34C under the heaviest loads, the Noctua NH-D14 is the best performing cooler I have ever seen. Anyone would be honored to have the brown and silver, metal owl case badge proudly displayed on their case." (Jeff Lindsey, Gamers Daily News)
