NH-L12
Being our first HTPC cooler to test since the big shakeup early this year, we find that the Noctua NH-L12 is a great improvement over the Intel stock solution. Idle temperatures were recorded as low as 37c at one point but didnt stay there long enough to be considered. We ended up maxing our cooler out at a mere 54c after a full run of PCMark, which we find to be a great achievement over the stock solution. As most of the overclockers and enthusiast know, IBT is a very stressful program and has the ability to stress an entire CPU and memory in one shot. Looking above we can take note that the Noctua didnt have any issues taking care of the heat generated by running IBT, maxing out at an impressive 61c compared to 91c of the stock solution provided by Intel.
"After testing this cooler Noctua has met every expectation I had, I knew going in that it was going to be a quality cooler with absolute silence. After all it's what Noctua is about and they haven’t faltered away from that in 7 years why would they do that now?" (Tyler Bernath, RealWorldLabs.com)
