NF-F12 PWM
This is where you can see the NF-F12?s flex their muscles. After testing all three built-in Fan Profile settings on the Corsair H80, I don’t think they have a huge effect on the fans, which is what the numbers revealed. Looking at this chart you may be thinking to yourself “they only cool a few degrees better than the stock Corsair fans, so why should I spend $54 on these two fans?” I’ll tell you why. Because, yes, they do only cool a few degrees better than the Corsair fans do on high, the difference is that the Corsair fans on high are as loud as a leaf blower. The Noctua NF-F12 fans are nearly dead silent when running on any of the profile settings. The only sound I can here from these fans under duress, is the sound of air whooshing through them. It’s obvious that the new build design that Noctua is using works. I can stick my hand in front of these fans and feel the air being directed through the middle instead of escaping out the sides. I just hope other companies take note and start developing their fans more like these Noctua fans.
"The performance, the build quality, the innovative designs that Noctua put into these babies — it all reveals the same thing — Noctua is really really good at what they do. I understand that many of you are apprehensive about spending $27 a piece on case fans, shoot I know I would be, the fact of the matter is that these are not necessities, but instead these are commodities that are worth every penny. I recommend these fans to anybody who is willing to fork up the money, because they are well worth it." (DJ Dixon, Go!GamingGiant)
