NF-F12 PWM
To test out the Noctua fan, an Intel LCS was used and the stock fan replaced with a single NF-F12 for the first round of benchmarking. A second NF-F12 was added for a push-pull configuration for further testing. The single NF-F12 performance was close to that of the Intel stock fan when the processor was under load, but under idle conditions the Noctua-equipped cooler had the processor running 5°C warmer than the stock LCS. With two fans the idle temperatures showed the greatest improvement, with a performance delta of 3°C. During these benchmarks the Noctua fans were much quieter than the stock fan.
"The noise or, more precisely, the lack thereof, means that those looking for silent high-performance fans need look no further" (Michael Reed, PCFormat)
