NH-D14
Idling at the desktop, the NH-D14 was dead silent. Really, at this point, I saw absolutely no reason to use the U.L.N.A. Adapters that are included. Plus, 29c is about perfect for the Phenom II at this speed. Cranking everything up, the temperature slowly but steadily rose, until it hit a nice and toast (sarcasm) 37c…. I was genuinely surprised by how little the major increase in CPU Workload affected the temperature. In fact, the temperature rose a mere 8c, and the noise level was exactly the same, which is to say, inaudible. [...] Besides the Corsair H80 (running Noctua Fans), I have yet to see a CPU Cooler that scales so well with overclocking. It really does make it feel like the sky is the limit.
"The Noctua NH-D14 will definitely run you a pretty penny ($85.99), but honestly, I have yet to see another Air Cooler that cools even remotely close to how well the NH-D14 cools. If you don’t want to switch to a water cooling system (even a self-contained one like the Corsair H80), then the Noctua NH-D14 is by FAR the best option that is available to you. Highly, highly recommended." (DJ Dixon, Go!GamingGiant)
