NH-L9i
When we have reviewed previous, larger, Noctua coolers the build quality and design of each has been top notch but there was always the concern that this wouldn't be the case with such a compact model. There would maybe have to be compromises in the ultra-compact design... but that proved not to be the case and from the nice packaging to the solid feel the NH-L9i gives a great first impression. We love it when a cooler comes as pre-assembled as possible from the factory and that was certainly the case here with only four screws required to install... eight if we wanted to change the fan (which was a nice addition to the design). In terms of performance the NH-L9i easily outperforms the stock Intel cooler at load and idle, even with the lower RPM adapter added. It also beats the larger Scythe cooler we tested against and does so with a lower noise level than both. So that brings us to value where the NH-L9i with its complete bundle, high quality build and great design costs only £35. A decent price point indeed.
"Looks great, super quick/easy to install and outperforms the stock Intel cooler by some way." (Stuart Davidson, HardwareHeaven.com)
