NH-L9i
As you can see from our chart, the Noctua NH-L9i blew the stock cooler out of the water by performing 11c better without the LNA and 7c better with the LNA with the 2500k at 3.3GHz. With our overclocked 2500k to 4.0GHz @ 1.25volts, the Noctua NH-L9i performed 10c better without the LNA and 6c better with the LNA. Overall, the Noctua Nh-L9i performed very well compared to the stock cooler. As we saw, even with the LNA adapter allowing the fan to spin at lower RPM’s the cooler out-performed the stock cooler by a significant margin. The LNA was deigned to help with fan noise; however, from our experience, even without the LNA adapter, the fan was nearly inaudible at full speed. We would skip the LNA adapter and take advantage of the additional performance.
"[W]e initially felt it was priced a little high for such a small cooler; however, after our testing results we feel that it’s well worth the price. On top of that, this cooler carries a 6 year warranty which is excellent for a CPU cooler. The Noctua NH-L9i deserves our Great Hardware award." (Kenny Ha, PureOverclock.com)
