NF-S12-1200
As fans go, these Noctua specimens are pretty impressive. Plugged straight into the PSU, they weren't silent, but the noise produced was quite different than the vast majority of other fans I've used. While most fans emit a distinctive 'whirring' sound, the sound from the Noctua units was lower in frequency and easily masked by the background room noise. After a very few minutes, my ears seemed to 'lose' the Noctua fans. With the ULNA's in place, the fans became completely inaudible from a distance of more than a few inches. Similarly, the airflow performance was quite good, considering their silence.
"The newest fan offerings from Noctua are real gems! They are quiet (silent, when used with the ULNA,) and move a respectable amount of air. While I hate to make generalizations about such things, these fans exhibit the high quality, innovative features and performance that products from this part of the world are famous for. Noctua has clearly set out to redefine what the future of quiet cooling will be, and if these fans are any indication, they have a very good start." (Joe Anderson, TweakNews.net)
