Myself being a fan of Noctua’s NH-D14, I have to say, they have yet again managed to impress. With unparalleled packing, Noctua have taken things a step further with the SecuFirm 2 mounting system, and installation now is much easier. In the process, they haven’t compromised on the performance even a little bit. The NH-U12S, even in a single fan configuration, can compete with most of the larger, dual-tower type coolers despite being a single-tower cooler. Test results show that the cooling prowess of the NH-U12S is exceeding the iconic NH-D14, therefore eliminating the need for grotesquely large air-coolers. Furthermore, unlike the dual-tower type designs that more often than not cover the memory slots, the NH-U12S guarantees maximum memory compatibility, even for the ones with large heat-spreaders.
