NH-U12S
Am I seeing this right? After running more than ten separate tests, I hope it's not some kind of weird error. It seems the lesser amount of heatpipes and smaller fan really don't hinder it too much. Honestly, I'm not quite sure why Noctua feels they have to supply a low-noise adaptor with the already silent levels. Not a complaint, just feels a bit superfluous. Of all the things it does share with the U14S, at least the noise-to-speed ratio is still well within a comfortable range.
"I guess the old adage of 'size doesn't matter' doesn't seem to apply here, but that's nothing new to PC builders. So, if you want the punch of a U14S but not the mass of one, the U12S will keep you satisfied and busy for your next benching session." (Nick Gifford, FunkyKit.com)
