NH-D15
Despite its large size, the Noctua NH-D15 is not all brawn and utilizes several smart efficient changes to great effect. Through focusing most of the airflow across the middle unlike the NH-D14 which had open sides, the NH-D15 was able to offload heat better through active cooling, especially with the new NF-A15 fans. Unlike the retail NF-A15 fans, the pair bundled with the NH-D15 runs at a higher RPM of 1500 (vs 1200) so it is much more capable. Surprisingly, the fans themselves were reasonably silent despite the speed bump. Installation improvements seen on the NH-U12S and NH-U14S carry on to the NH-D15 with the new simplified backplate with the built-in posts.
"For an overall impressive thermal handling capability while performing at a reasonable noise level, topped with the familiar Noctua premium quality, the NH-D15 earns the Hardware-360 approved award." (Ron Perillo, Hardware-360)
