NH-D15
The D14 was well known as a cooler that coped well when a CPU was overclocked, how did D15 do? Well it’s all good news here, the single fan mode results again behind the D14 and ahead of U14s, Dual fan configuration yielded a degree or so benefit and again with triple fans. So all this time and it’s only a degree or two better? Well Yes and No… Thing is theirs more going on here than just thermal improvements. Acoustics on the D14 were good, The D15 though with the two NF-A15?s on there, it’s just so much better. It’s so quiet at idle and when things warmed up the change was minimal. Ram compatibility is better than the D14 even though we highlighted some key issues, the fix is straight forward – either lift the fan up and mount higher or move it to the opposite side. In the case of Socket 2011 moving it up would be best option.
"The D14 made such a dent in the industry and had staying power, it’s still popular now. Does the D15 stack up? It sure does it's sleeker, smoother, quieter and performs better too." (John Glenton, TechiCize.com)
