NH-U14S
The NH-U14S had an impressive showing both with and without the optional retail NF-A15 “pull” fan. On our open-air flat surface test bed, it performed better than the NH-D14 even when the i7-4770K was overclocked which was remarkable considering its size.Standing in stark contrast to the imposing titan that is the NH-D14, the NH-U14S is a picture of refinement and tempered stature. The nickel finished heatpipe count remains the same but the distribution is concentrated on a smaller space complimented by a radiator stack that channels airflow across purposefully. Much of the brute force now relies heavily on the bundled NF-A15 fans running up to 1500 RPM (300 RPM faster than the retail equivalent) pushing 140.2 m³/h of air at full 12V operation able to offload heat faster than rapper can spend money at a strip club. Staying true to their mantra of “sound optimized” however, this powerful fan stays reasonably quiet through a combination of several technological innovations developed and improved through years of research.
"For a competitive performance against dual-tower coolers and top of the line build quality, the Noctua NH-U14S earns the Modders-Inc “Must Have” award." (Ron Perrillo, Modders-Inc.com)
