Noctua @ Computex 2008

Noctua @ Computex 2008

Vienna, June 9th 2008 - At this year's Computex Taipei trade fair, Noctua didn't only showcase its current product line-up, but also gave the first public showing of brand new prototypes. During the last week, we've already received great feedback on the new products both from visitors and members of the international press who stopped by at our booth.

First off, we've been very pleased to be able to show a prototype of a new, further refined version of our signature NF-S12 fan, which attracted quite a lot of attention. By increasing the length of the fan blades at the leading edges and adding the bevelled blade tips we've first used for our NF-B9 fan, we've managed to achieve improved airflow and static pressure at the same noise level. The NF-S12B is currently scheduled for a Q4 2008 release.

We've also displayed new CPU coolers for Dual Xeon: Coming with our new SecuFirm2™ mounting system for socket 771 and sporting a new fin-design that enables users to create a wind tunnel on dual CPU setups, the NH-U12DX and NH-U9DX are completely tailor-made for Dual Xeon. Both coolers should be available in September.

Furthermore, we've shown a prototype of our new SecuFirm2™ mounting system for Intel's new socket 1366 (Nehalem/Bloomfield): The new mounting kit is designed for maximum security and convenience and will be backwards compatible with all Noctua CPU coolers since 2005. All users of Noctua CPU coolers will be able to obtain the kit either for free or at a very low service charge (to be determined) upon presenting a proof of purchase (scan or photo of the invoice).

Last but not least, we've presented a prototype of our upcoming top-of-the-line retail CPU cooler: codename 'Sandwich'. The alpha stadium dummy sample on display doesn't show the confidential core feature of the cooler yet, but it will give you a basic idea of the cooler's 6 heat-pipe design. The cooler will already come with our new SecuFirm2™ mounting system for socket 1366 and is currently scheduled for a Q4 2008 release as well.
